Artwork
I have always done all the art for our posters, CD and tape covers. Now I'm also doing the designs for our T-shirts and other merchandise. Art has always been a part of what I do! Some of my art is buried around here and there but I plan on putting it up as I find it or make new whether they are doodles, sketches, or full blown artworks, I intend that they will be posted here... Blues guitar sideman for Sydney Ellis
Sometimes I play guitar for Sydney Ellis. I've learned a lot from her actually because she demands a particular sound and style of blues guitar that is very clean. She knows what she wants and I do my best to deliver. We've played some nice festivals together and she knows that I'm there for her if she needs me. I have a lot of respect for her and her husband Kevin (who also happens to be one of the best soundmen I know!)
In German it means "Carpet of Sound". And that is what "Klangteppiche" is... a completely improvisational mix of cultural rhythms, textures and In musical flavors that opens a vibrational journey through the cosmos on a carpet of sound. Born out of a friendship of neighboring musicians who's various musical influences from around the world brought them together in a chance meeting of kindred spirits, Klangteppich is a wonderfully freeing experience. Pietch - has deeply studied the Australian Aborigine way of life for many years and is a master of the Didgeridoo as well as the healing and magical powers hidden within the flora of this planet. Mingo - has traveled the world extensively, absorbing a multitude of different cultural experiences. This coupled with his devotion to music and inner exploration has lead him to the deep grooving rhythms of the bass guitar. Jörgen - dancing with the heartbeat of life, he is often found on the Ibiza island beaches, raising the pulse of the intense drumming circles with other trance masters. Lance - a world traveler, multi-instrumental inspired improvisationalist, breaking the musical boundaries to surf the musical muse. When does a guitar sound like the universe? Free your spirit by riding with us on our Klangteppich.
Music in Laos - Merging traditional Laos music with the blues. I find that the traditional music shares similar rhythms with some of the more hypnotic blues music. I think "Howlin' Wolf" would have had a good time with the Lao music so I think I might like to give it a try. UPDATE - Last we played together we split time between Lao music and rockin' blues, it was great. A little more and we'll record!
